Description

This very small cemetery is located in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee on Ashland City Road, southeast of the intersection of that road and Cumberland Drive. Driving southeast, after passing Gary Mathews Motors, AutoZone, and Stor-alot Self Storage, the cemetery is on the edge of the woods, at the top of a hill barely 50 feet from the road. The cemetery is surrounded by a chain link fence and is marked with a sign. Due to dense growth, it is not visible from the road during spring and summer, but may be visible during fall and winter. GPS coordinates are 36.505318, -87.361468. At least six people are buried there, but as of June 2019 only two markers, for Robert Oliver and Henry Miller, have been found. John and Wilhelmena Miller immigrated from Germany to the United States around 1865. John maintained vineyards in Clarksville and was known as "the grape man" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Near the site of this cemetery he and his wife tended "Dahlia Dell," a Clarksville garden spot, where their thriving business of dhalias was a local sightseeing attraction. Their business was established no earlier than 1880, and was continued at least into the 1930s by their daughter Anna Bell (Miller) Boyd.
